Satellites in Review
What's that blinking in the sky?
Welcome!
Satellites are part of a modern space race. They serve as an ideal example
of exponential data generation for many countries across domains ranging from communications to military operations and beyond.
There are several factors that may reveal the nature of a nation's health and positioning in an international
competitive space as a result. An analytical overview could potentially identify advanced nations
and set informed expectations for international affairs regulation in an emerging operational space.
For this project, the data set selected included 86 different countries and
combinations of countries sharing joint responsibility for a satellite. This cohort represents almost half of all countries in the world.
This is certainly remarkable due to the resources and technological ability necessary to contribute to space assets. This is not a
easy nor cheap venture, yet many countries are participating.
